I am going to change my transmission fluid on my 02 sonata. They did not carry the fluid at autozone. Advanced told me that it took 8 quarts and they had it. I thought 8 qts seemed like a lot. I had a 2001 Hyundai Elantra and I had to get special transmission fluid from the Hyundai dealership. If you get any other kind it will wreck your transmission, trust me, it happened! I think I ended up using about 8 quarts. I bought a case form the dealership and left the rest in the trunk in case I ever needed them. I believe there were 12 in the case. Check your owners manual ...if you have one. There should be a section for fluids and amounts.
