98 Mercedes Benz S420 Transmission Fluid?

Is it ok to use Lucas Transmission Fluid as a additive? How do you change the Transmission Fluid Filter Kit?98 Mercedes Benz S420 Transmission Fluid?
Benz does not recommend any additives for their transmission and considering the cost of a replacement electronic transmission, I wouldn't add anything other than the Benz synthetic transmission fluid either.

Changing the transmission filter is the same as it is on most other trannies. Drop the pan, replace the filter and the gasket, refill the transmission. You'll need 4 litres of fluid if you're replacing the fluid lost from the pan, 8 litres if you're flushing the entire transmission including the torque conv. Just remember that the car does not come with a fluid level dipstick. You'll either need to buy the tool or take the car to a shop that has one so they can check the fluid level for you.98 Mercedes Benz S420 Transmission Fluid?
Well if you've not really had any problems with the transmission I'd not add any Lucas to it but I do believe in their products , have used them myself and know of many success stories.

If you've not ever changed transmission fluids or filters you might want to either get a shop to it or get a friend to help you that has experience or read a full service manual and then do it or try a good auto parts store bec some offer free diagrams and instruction print outs.

Hope that helps and best of luck.By the way that really isn't a hard job to do it's vital though that the right filter kit and transmission fluid is used , plus cleaning the surfaces and making sure that their quite dry before placing the gasket and pan back on is also vital.Another thing is once you change the fluid etc wait till you drive it a good 100 miles or so and lightly retighten the pan bolts again.
