Changing the transmission fluid on a 98 chevy silverado.?

I need to know how to add tranny fluid to a 98 chevy silverado. The dip stick says there is nothing in it, but I cant find a place to pour more fluid in. Can anyone help with this? I also need to know how to change it again, once I have it back home (filter, getting the fluid out, etc.) Any help you can provide would be great. You fill it through the dip stick tube.there's a special funnel you use, there cheap at any auto parts store. to change the fluid %26amp; filter you have to remove the transmission oil pan. not hard but messyChanging the transmission fluid on a 98 chevy silverado.?
You have to get the black funnel from walmart or the auto parts store that fits down the trans fluid dipstick tube and pour the trans fluid down the dipstick tube, then to drain it, you will need an oil pan and unbolt the back of the trans from the frame cross memeber, you will see it, then jack up the trans so that you can acces the rear bolts on the bottom of the trans fluid pan, then u have to take the trans fluid pan off, leve it a few hours so that the torque converter can drain properly, then re fill it, and you will be good to go, the best way to do this procedure is get a Haynes manual from the autoparts store and it tells u how to change the trans fluid.Changing the transmission fluid on a 98 chevy silverado.?
you use a funnel and add to where the dipstick comes out. to get the fluid and filter out is a bit of a project. i have done several over the years. that should be a 700 r4 transmission. the cross member needs to be disturbed to remove the pan and you need to be prepared for a mess if you have never done it before.
