How often do you change your transmission fluid + filter ? I lately been hearing once a year !?

Hey fellow Dodge / Chrysler owners ! This may not result in a 'best' answer, but more so multiple helpful answers ! We all know Chrysler sure doesn't make an invincible, million mile life transmission, but wtheck.

Now the normal i understand is every 30,000 miles.

Lately I've been hearing once a year ? Is this crazy or could prove to be worthwhile trying it ?How often do you change your transmission fluid + filter ? I lately been hearing once a year !?
i change mine every 25 thousand or three years which ever comes first, they recommend doing it at least every 36 thousand miles, good luck. How often do you change your transmission fluid + filter ? I lately been hearing once a year !?
You can change it whenever. I do mine like 10,000 to 15,000 miles. OR a year. which ever comes first. How often do you change your transmission fluid + filter ? I lately been hearing once a year !?
It's not like it can hurt to change it every year!! I would say 3 years. It depends on of course how many miles you drive. But it should be about three 3 years!!How often do you change your transmission fluid + filter ? I lately been hearing once a year !?
My cousin owns a transmission shop and he said to follow what the manufacturer says, but told me if you change it every 15k miles, most transmissions will last for a long time. How often do you change your transmission fluid + filter ? I lately been hearing once a year !?
put it more the better, the cleaner the fluids are the better the performance of your machine lol. the only time it hurts the vehicle is if you don't change it and you go about 100,000 plus miles then its better to leave that fluid in there, sometime in high mileage cars the only thing holding it together is that Dirty fluid. like the guy at the top said 25,000 or three years both good numbers wich ever comes first.

the more you change the fluids the better even little particls of dirt and debry can ruin everything, you would be suprised what can stop a tranny or a engine.

if you want your car or truck suv whatever to run forever change your fluids before they need to be changed. you will be suprised how long your vehicle can run i had a 1990 nissan maxima with 300,000 miles and its still going today and everything is original down to the starter, and it still dynod at my school at the stock hp and torque.

take it from me buddy if you can afford to change it every year do it.How often do you change your transmission fluid + filter ? I lately been hearing once a year !?
me personally id change it every 30,000 you could get a year outta it but then you could also risk a chance of losing a transmission...preventive maintance is always a good idea....but then you could get lucky once a year but i wouldnt reccommend it...its your choice really...How often do you change your transmission fluid + filter ? 25000 is good. You can run it a little longer if you use synthetic or add an aux. cooler. How often do you change your transmission fluid + filter ? I lately been hearing once a year !?
I aim for the 24,000 mile mark. Sometimes it goes a bit beyond but that is not so critical as how you drive it. Extreme heat or cold take a toll on transmissions. I highly recommend synthetic fluid, it stays clean longer. It will cost more than standard but you get a higher level of protection.

Pulling a trailer or driving in dusty dirty terrain will be reason to change more often. How often do you change your transmission fluid + filter ? I lately been hearing once a year !?
DON'T GET IT MESSED UP MO PAR IS %26quot;MO PAR%26quot; .

I'M FINISHED TALKING

VERY RELIABLEHow often do you change your transmission fluid + filter ? I lately been hearing once a year !?
My job is in heavy construction equipment and particularly hydraulic systems. You cannot keep hydraulics too clean, and that is all an automatic transmission control system is. No, oil does not wear out, but it gets dirty and the anti wear additives degrade.

Personally, I always add coolers to the transmissions, but I live in a hot area, and I do not like the standard filter, so WW Granger has a hydraualic filter, as does B%26amp;M, with replaceable spin on filters at 10 micron, or you could go to 3 micron. I add those to all my cars and change at 25,000 intervals. Personally, I cannot see the added benefit verses cost of synthetic over conventional. Have too much good luck with conventional oils. DO ADD a drain plug to your transmission pan, to make the job easier.

Ran the transmission in a K car over 275,000 miles and no failure ever. Have Suburban with the early 700R4 and HAD it rebuilt due to worry about it at 230,000 miles and the shop said he had NEVER heard of one at that mileage.

So my answer is YES, change it at 25,000 miles if you intend to keep the car a long time and don't forget the axle and power steering fluid.

Good LuckHow often do you change your transmission fluid + filter ? I lately been hearing once a year !?
the more often the better I guess. but you need to do the flush along with new filtr(s) I have a dodge ram and the book recomends 60000 for this service. Its expensive and well worth it as it is preventative maintenance. I have about 18,000 to go and I am currently saving money to have this done. How often do you change your transmission fluid + filter ? I lately been hearing once a year !?
The first place to look is in your vehicles owners manuel.Different vehicles have different schedules for changing your transmission filter and fluid.Use of vehicle can also effect how often if you have a truck and you use it for heavy work or are constantly towing a trailer every 20,000 miles would be a good time to change it.Different climates can also effect service intervals hot dusty desert verses a cooler non dusty enviroment. How often do you change your transmission fluid + filter ? 15K or every year (12 months) for severe duty, that is towing, mountain driving, stop and go, taxi, teen driver etc. most people and cars would benefit from a service sooner than later. For the majority of us 30K (2 years)would be adequate. Lets remember it is heat that kills hydraulic fluid performance, as the fluid degrades quickly and loss of lubrication will cause many problems. The modern automatic transmission/ transaxle needs protection from heat, and Chrysler had issues with airflow into the engine compartment. All chry.cars built after 1996 suffer from over temp. conditions, vans, and cars especially. BTW the intrepid class w/ 2.7L engines drop dead if synthetic oils are not used. Just ask an owner, they should have required this from day one. The engineers knew about this, but as usual Chry. bean counters figured it would be cheaper to deal with unhappy customers on a case by case basis rather than fixing the root cause, bad cooling due to lack of airflow. How often do you change your transmission fluid + filter ? 3 years or 30,000 miles is still the normal interval. if you change it once a year you may be wasting money, but you will have a transmission that will outlast most of the cars on the road. How often do you change your transmission fluid + filter ? I lately been hearing once a year !?
alot of owners manuals have a schedual for matenice in the back check that there is usually two different scheduales for matince there
