Can anyone give me information on how to change the transmission fluid in a 2000 Mercury Cougar? I have changed transmission fluid before in a rear wheel drive car but never in a front wheel drive car. How hard is it and can someone tell me where i can find instructions for this type of car to do it.

Some owners manuals will have the trans fluid change procedures in them. If not, goto Auto Zone and get a hanes manual for like $25. They are great. Its really not that hard on most FWD cars. It is a lot like changing the oil. If you are not paying attention you could pull the wrong drain plug they are so similar. Just locate your transmission, pull that plug and your good to go. The owners manual will have the Trans fluid amount. Also keep in mind you should change the trans filter every 50k miles.How hard is it to change the transmission fluid in a 2000 Mercury cougar?
