I currently have a 2002 Suzuki Aerio. I've been told I need my transmission fluid changed, but that was a while ago. Alright so I don't know what to ask for when I goto a service shop.
When you need to change your oil you goto a service shop and get an oil change.

there is a transmission flush and then there is a transmission fluid change and filter, they are really 2 differen't processes, the flush removes all the old transmission fluid from the tranny but leaves the old filter in and the old way is to drop the tranny pan and replace the filter and any fluid lost while doing it which is usually 4 or 5 qts., personally I like the old way as I want a new filter put in my tranny when i change the fluid.Whats it called when you need your transmission fluid changed.?

Called a trans flush. On most cars its about 130.00 bucs. The filter needs be changed also. If you can do it yourself you can save about 80 bucks.

Stick or auto? stick, it's just a drain and fill. Auto, it's called a transmission flush, just changing the fluid leave over half of the old fluid in the torque converter.
