How often should I change my transmission fluid in a 2001 Honda Accord?

The mechanic says that when he drains it not all of it comes out and that it takes several times to dilute the new with the old? This seems fishy to me?How often should I change my transmission fluid in a 2001 Honda Accord?
Unfortunately, he is correct. If you have never changed it before, I would do it a couple of times at 5000 mile intervals, then every two years or 25,000 miles. NEVER let them flush the transmission, as this will stir up debris that will ruin an automatic transmission VERY quickly. How often should I change my transmission fluid in a 2001 Honda Accord?
The mechanic is correct. Not all of the ATF will drain out because most of it is in the torque converter. You will probably get less than one third of the ATF out with a drain. You can probably get more out with a hand pump-style fluid extractor. I recommend fluid drain and fills every 30,000 miles. You'll have a lot of old fluid in there, but that's ok, because some of it will be replaced regularly. Make sure to use the proper spec ATF for the fluid - if it says to use Honda ATF Z1 or whatever, find a suitable replacement fluid, because Honda transmissions require special fluids. I recommend drain and fills only, not flushes. How often should I change my transmission fluid in a 2001 Honda Accord?
draining the pan will not get all the old fluid out the torque converter holds a lot o fluid have the system flushed every 50000How often should I change my transmission fluid in a 2001 Honda Accord?
TO KEEP YOUR PERFORMANCE SMOOTH YOU SHOULD DO IT EVERY 25-30K MILES AND FLUSH OUT EVERY 50-60K MILES
