I drove Sables for years and have never seen one with a 3.8L enging or was never offered one with a 3.8L engine... they come with a 3.0L engine so will be hard to change fluid in the 3.8L Sable. To change you need to drop the transmission pan. By the cost and mess you would have, have a transmission shop do it for you.How to change transmission fluid in a 1993 mercury sable 3.8?
Ok, no sable has ever come with a 3.8 L engine, only a 3.0
You have to get under the engine, you need to find the transmission pan. Take out the 16-18 screws that support the pann. You need a transmission filter, cost 19.99
You need to change the filter and pan gasket.
